Deputy Chief Captain A.R. Gordon

Deputy Chief Captain Andrew R. Gordon graduated from Marshall University in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. Captain Gordon was hired by the South Charleston Police Department in 2005 and graduated from the West Virginia State Police Academy in 2006. Captain Gordon currently has more than 18 years of law enforcement experience in the state of West Virginia.

Captain Gordon has served in various roles at the South Charleston Police Department including Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer (FTO), Detective, Shift Supervisor, Chief Detective, and Bureau Commander.

Captain Gordon currently serves as Bureau Commander and supervises the Detective Bureau, the Street Crimes Unit, MDENT detectives from the South Charleston Police Department, and the South Charleston Police Department Emergency Response Team.
